Favorite Pokemon Girls 2015 Text Edition

Decided to upload a text version of this becauise it took around 2 hours to type those descriptions and I don't wanna lose them. That, and in-case anyone saw the other version and thought "ugh, not another one these memes" without seeing the text I spent so long typing.

So without further ado...

After seeing this again (The pic version of this list) and some recent anime events, I had a long hard thing and I think I have more of a defined top ten now, bar Flannery. Further more, I think I'm ready to give reasons behind the choices as well.

So from left to right....

1. Anabel

While I've not drawn Anabel as much as other girls lately, she has always remain special to me as the first real Pokegirl I had any feelings towards. And given another event in my life, she now is even more special to me because of her namesake, hehheh...

2. Ashley

When discovering TG art more and realizing to myself that its actually something I like and such, I then saw a pic of Ashley and then it just clicked, sorta like "Ahhhhh yeah" in a way. XD Does she count as a Pokegirl? Maybe not. Is she just Ash in a wig? Perhaps. But darn it, you follow my art long enough and know what kind of shenanigans she gets up to which only fuels me interest in TG art and stories more and more and for that, SHE gets the 2nd place.

And you know what? I not really an Ash hater to be quite frank....

3. Dawn

Ahh Dawn. Maybe people may pick Misty or May over you but to me, you'll always be the best female companion of Ash's BFFs.

If Anabel was the first I had feelings and support for, Dawn would be the first I gave a real damn about. From her debut ep in which Ash did not even show up till the end, making it all 90% Dawn, to her contest losses and victories and her "No need to worry!" attitude. I tell ya, I was really routing for her to win in her contest battles against May and then Zoey because of everything she had been through. I had not been screaming at the screen in a way like that since the days of Season one, where we did not know how repetitive the anime would get or go on for. And ohh her end theme By Your Side. All the versions of this theme work so well, even the sad piano version that gets me in tears every time it comes on (Even that time it play for poor Buizel, OH GOD THAT SAD FACE HE HAD WHEN HE WAS SAD HE LOST!!!! T.T)

Another reasoning would be that I freakin love the 4th Gen altogether as my fav gen. It has meant so much to me in events in my life, people I've met, and what it gave to me. Characters like Dawn, Zoey, Cynthia to name a few, the most new favorite Pokemon I've had in any gen since gen one, most of which belonging to Dawn (Piplup, Pachirisu, Buneary, etc.), having some of the best tunes I've heard in the games, and I guess it just came at just the right time in my life, much like Dawn did.

That, and the generation is an important part in relationships of mine as well.

4. Zoey

So she's moved up a few places since last time. and given all the DawnXZoey art you've seen from me, you know I support this ship a lot.

I suppose you can apply a lot of Dawn in here too, especially my 4th gen rambles, but I guess unlike a lot of May's rivals, she wasnt trying to be a bitch or bastard to the main female character but really a friend and support to Dawn as well. The fact both of them got to the grande festival final together was just a perfect closure to Dawn's story arc for me even though she did not win, but at least it was her friend rather then someone who just showed up at the league *coughRichiecough*  or Grand Festival just to win our heroes' ass then never or rarely be seen again. And with everything they've shared together...yeah, I guess I do support it over Dawn shippings. X3

5. Greta

Her and Anabel just click for me. Both being Frontier Brains, I like to think of Anabel as the more mature and gentler of the couple while Greta's the more easy going and acts before she thinking type. But I guess if Anabel should be with anyone, Greta's a keeper. Not to mention A Greta Love was the first fic I wrote so they're of big importance to me together.

Oh and the Anabel and Greta Show, we cannot forget that dear show that means a lot to me. X3

6. Ursula

I think its all thanks to a certain girl in my life. She knows who she is. XD

But yeah, if Zoey was a friend as well as a rival to Dawn, Ursula is the more meaner rival. And lately she has been a source of inspiration for more fics and pics when it comes to Dawn perils too. Her hair is not the easiest to draw but whenever I do draw her, it's always worth it. Yes, you'll be seeing plenty of her in the future.

7. Serena

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER. XD

When Serena first hit the scene, she did interest me in the sence that she knew Ash beforehand, which her ship with him is pretty much destroying Pokeshipping (No big loss to me, I think it's becoming over rated as a ship these days...) and seeing where that goes with her. Her progess however has been a little slow, lacking any real goal as a trainer and not even getting her second Pokemon after a long period of time.

So why is she seventh then? XY60 is your answer.

At last she was gaining a goal to pursue and in her first performance, it looks like its all going so well...and then that happened. And boy, does it milk the sadness. Forget anything bad that's ever happened to May or Dawn, boy this was depressing for Serena. And then for the first time in a long long time, the anime utterly shocked and surprised me when she cut most of her hair away, forever changing her appearance (Unless she grows it back, but that doesnt happen overnight). Given the reasons behind it and the symbolism of women cutting their hair off like that in Asian countries, I can somewhat understand it, but boy, its left an impact on me.

Admittedly, I'm a little behind on the anime these days. I would keep up by viewing the weekly screencaps of the Japanese episodes, but XY60 made me go hunt down the fansub and boy, it did not disappoint. Screencaps did not do it full justice and that moment just before she cut her hair and all those flashbacks that ran a million miles a second just made me explode in "AWWWWWW"s. It has not only made me care about Serena, it has made me care about the anime more and more. It reminded me why I still love this anime so much even after 18 seasons to the point where I want to go from looking at screencaps to watching fansubs of the latest episodes, to which I'm going to commit myself to doing from now on, as well as catching up on the DVD collecting, which is only in Season 11. Which has meant that yeah, the majority of BW has been screencap viewing, not proper watching, but I hope to change that now.

So yeah in short, Serena made me care about watching the anime once again, and I've gone from interested to extremely interested in how her path towards performing goes, as well as getting her man as it were. XD Hell, it was reason enough for me to renew this list. I'd advise you give the fansub of XY60 a go, I highly recommend it.        

Oh, her new look? I prefer her long hair, hence even more the shock, but it's warming on me a little. And again, her blushing when Ash looked at the ribbon he gave her..........AWWWWWWWW. XD

8. Bonnie

You know, I even surprise myself. XD I thought Bonnie would be higher because...goddamn it, she's so adorable! X3 Like I always say, every episode she gives us at least one adorable face. X3 I guess she now loses points because outside of the cuteness, getting her brother laid and Dedene, there's not really much else for Bonnie. But she still comes out strong at number 8 and the 6th gen is far from over so....we'll see. Perhaps she needs her "Ralts" episode.

Oh, and she got her own episode with a freakin' Lapras?!?!? Get out of here. XD

9. Iris

Oh Iris Iris Iris. Now why was it I put you here again?

I guess it might of been because she was a little different from the normal female companion. She swings vines, she loves dragons, hates the cold, gets away with calling Ash a kid. But I guess like Cilen, they were just going with something different instead of the normal formula for Pokemon and Iris was part of that. We have 2 Gym Leaders traveling with Ash again, Team Rocket were being used much less and were serious villains meaning we had Twerp only episode which freshened it up a little, and the show went at a much faster pace.

Which not all of these changes worked (Team Rocket got boring quick to the point where they went back to comic relief by the end, way way too many filler arcs, etc.) I do at least applaud them for trying to shake up the formula a little even though I loved Sinnoh. I'm guess I'm not giving much reason for liking Iris but.......I dunno, its still something.

10. Flannery

She's hot.........and that's about it. XD

I'm sorry, I just don't have much beyond that. Maybe next time I decide to renew this list. XD
